Position Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Technology Officer will support a team of highly effective engineers while shaping and growing the team for the next phase of hyper growth.

You will do this using your…
  • 5+ years experience leading and growing software engineering teams with a history of developing highly available, scalable and robust services for SaaS products.
  • 5+ years experience architecting and creating scalable, Linux-based REST/GraphQL APIs, microservices, event-driven and serverless architectures.
  • 5+ years’ experience writing clean, scalable Node.js code in a production SaaS environment, including design patterns, caching, concurrency, scalability, security, authentication/authorization/JWTs, asynchronous and multithreaded JavaScript.
  • Experience with deployment orchestration using Docker / Kubernetes, on Amazon AWS or other cloud vendors
  • Fluency in MongoDB/MySQL/PostgreSQL database structures, queries, performance and replication
  • Passion for improving the developer experience for the services you build.

  • Strong software development background to build and extend our frameworks, understand our product APIs, and create the development roadmap to reach our vision.
  • Understanding of appropriate technologies, best practices, performance tuning, and impact on production traffic.
  • Methodical ability to troubleshoot performance issues in order to discover the root cause.
  • Communication of performance results that are actionable to engineers and understood by executive leadership.
  • Creation of performance metrics for consumption by engineers, customers and industry tooling (AppDynamics, DynaTrace, DataDog, etc.)
  • Experience with distributed applications and tracing.
  • Experience using Test-Driven Development.
  • Fluency in Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, automated and performance/load testing.
  • Cloud experience (AWS preferred) and cloud automation tooling (Ansible, OpenShift, Chef, CloudFormation, Terraform etc.)
  • Previous experience in the banking and/or financial technology industry.
  • Working experience with SOC controls and PII data security best-practices.

Plinqit is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Some travel and office appearances are required for all positions. We are a hybrid of remote and in person company; we leave it up to you and your manager to agree on how often you come into the office. We offer cell phone and internet stipends to help ensure your home office is a great place to work.
