4Front Credit Union Continues Helping Members Save and Experiences Significant Growth with Plinqit

4Front Credit Union received a grant from the Michigan Credit Union Foundation (MCUF) to generate a long-term impact on the financial futures of Michiganders.

The credit union initially considered creating a savings tool internally for its members but ultimately decided that working with a strategic partner would be more effective. 4Front partnered with Plinqit, Inc. to provide a solution that encourages members to practice practical saving habits with added incentives to earn more money.

The solution is Plinqit – the only platform of its kind that pays users for engaging with content. Its patent-pending Build Skills™ feature allows users to grow and expand their knowledge of finances by simply watching an educational video or reading an article from the Plinqit library and then taking a short quiz. Upon completion, users receive a monetary reward towards their savings goal.

“The launch of Plinqit was seamless,” said Zach Eychaner, formerly SVP of Strategic Innovation at 4Front Credit Union, now SVP of Digital Experience, Community Financial Credit Union. “The Plinqit team has been prompt and timely in all our interactions. We launched the app quickly amid the pandemic, and we are grateful for the team’s support throughout the process. Plinqit collaborated with our credit union to determine best practices to help us with member engagement – it was apparent that the team really wanted us to be successful and that is refreshing to find in a partnership.”

In just three weeks, 4Front had 270 Plinqit accounts.

Since the January 2020 launch, 4Front has recognized more the $1 million in collective member savings, and they have 1,611 Plinqit savers to date. The credit union started with an email campaign to introduce the Plinqit app to its members. In just three weeks, 4Front had 270 Plinqit accounts. Additionally, 154 employees began using the app. Traction with Plinqit grew quickly. In fact, in just ten days, users have been able to already save more than $10,000. Plinqit was an effective tool in non-member acquisition and helped bolster younger members’ engagement while resonating with adjacent generations.

Eychaner continued, “One of the things that attracted us to Plinqit is its ease of use. We were excited about being able to offer the app to everyone, even nonmembers. This was made possible because Plinqit is a credit union member. Plinqit allows us to not only reward users but also educate them about financial literacy. Learning valuable financial habits by creating and achieving savings goals is truly a win-win for everyone.”

“There is not a credit union in the U.S. that Plinqit is not on brand for,” says Eychaner.
