Plinqit sponsors Lights, Camera, Save! annual video contest, which is hosted by the ABA Foundation

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Sept. 19, 2023 Plinqit, the first platform that brings together automated savings, data-driven financial wellness content and virtual account management, has partnered with the ABA Foundation to teach teens about financial responsibility with a national video contest, Lights, Camera, Save!

Lights, Camera, Save! is a chance for teens to educate themselves, and their peers, about building sound financial habits — all while creating eye-catching videos for TikTok, Snapchat or other social media platforms. The contest is designed to empower teens to inform others about the value of good money habits and share tips for making smart financial decisions. Given Plinqit’s mission to help consumers live their best financial lives, Plinqit chose to partner with the ABA Foundation for this year’s annual contest. As the sponsor of Lights, Camera, Save!, Plinqit will present prizes to this year’s winners.

Lights, Camera, Save! is a great way to get teens excited about saving and we hope this year’s contest encourages more students to start building healthy savings habits early and get a head start on creating a financially sound future. We look forward to seeing the entries from contestants across the country.

Contestants between the ages of 13 and 18 are eligible to submit a video and can cover topics like paying for college, learning about your credit score and more. This year’s contest will run from October 1 through December 1 and the ABA Foundation will supply free resources to registered banks to help promote the contest. Any bank in the U.S. may submit one video to Lights, Camera, Save! and the ABA Foundation will host and judge the national contest.

“At Plinqit, we strongly believe saving is the first step to a healthy financial future and teaching young people the importance of saving is crucial,” said Kathleen Craig, founder and CEO of Plinqit. “Lights, Camera, Save! is a great way to get teens excited about saving and we hope this year’s contest encourages more students to start building healthy savings habits early and get a head start on creating a financially sound future. We look forward to seeing the entries from contestants across the country.”

“We are proud to partner with Plinqit on Lights, Camera, Save!. Their sponsorship of this year’s contest makes it possible for us to engage youth in educating themselves and their peers about financial responsibility,” said Lindsay Torrico, SVP, Bank Community Engagement & Executive Director of the ABA Foundation. “We look forward to continuing to work together to drive our shared goals of financial health and well-being for all.”
